Privacy Policy for Pair with Me

Pair with Me is operated by Eunbee Hwang, a sole proprietor in British Columbia, Canada. This policy explains what information Pair with Me handles, why it is needed, and the choices available to you.

1. Information We Handle

2. How Information Is Collected

• From you: When you sign in, enter financial records, upload an image, make a purchase, or contact support.
• From your partner: When your partner creates shared records or sends an invitation.
• Automatically: When the app records session, sync, notification, crash, performance, and security information.
• From platforms and providers: When Apple, Google, RevenueCat, or another service confirms authentication or purchase status.

3. Personal and Shared Data

Personal-mode records are available only to your account. When you and another person form a group, both members can view shared-group records. Actions taken by either member can change shared data.

Leaving a group dissolves the group for both members and permanently deletes its shared financial data. This action does not delete either member's personal-mode data.

4. Optional AI Features

Pair with Me uses Google Gemini for two optional features:

• Ask Your Money: Gemini receives your question, recent conversation context, and selected financial summaries needed to prepare an answer. Summaries can include category totals, bill details, generic account labels, balances, and dates.
• Image scanning: Gemini receives the receipt or bank screenshot you select, along with category names and a local date, to propose transaction details. Pair with Me does not intentionally store the original scan image in its primary app database.

Google handles submitted content under the Gemini API Terms. Google may retain or review API content as permitted by those terms and the service configuration. Avoid including information that is not needed for your request.

You can avoid Gemini processing by not using these features. AI output may be incomplete or incorrect and is not financial, tax, legal, or investment advice.

5. When Information Is Shared

We do not sell or rent personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or share it with data brokers.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate confidentiality controls.

6. Retention and Deletion

• App records: Kept while your account is active unless you delete a record earlier.
• Shared-group records: Permanently deleted when either member leaves and dissolves the group.
• Scan images: Processed in memory and sent to Gemini; not intentionally stored in the primary app database.
• Support diagnostics: Scheduled to expire 30 days after creation.
• Session and security records: Kept while needed to authenticate requests, investigate misuse, prevent fraud, and protect the service.
• Purchase and webhook records: Kept while needed to manage entitlements, prevent duplicate processing, resolve disputes, and meet platform or legal requirements.
• Provider backups: Removed according to provider backup and disaster-recovery cycles.

Account deletion removes primary account and app records. Limited audit, security, diagnostic, purchase, webhook, and backup records may remain when needed for the purposes above. We delete or de-identify retained information when it is no longer needed.

7. Your Choices and Requests

• Access and correction: View and edit available records in the app.
• Individual deletion: Delete transactions, accounts, and other supported records in the app.
• Group exit: Leave a group from Profile. This dissolves the group and deletes shared-group data for both members.
• Account deletion: Open Profile, select Delete Account, and follow the confirmation steps.
• Export or privacy request: Email couplemoneymanager@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
• Notifications: Manage notification preferences in the app or device settings.
• AI: Do not use Ask Your Money or image scanning if you do not want content sent to Gemini.

Additional rights may apply based on where you live, including rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a portable copy of personal information, and to complain to a privacy regulator.

8. Security

Pair with Me uses HTTPS/TLS for network transmission, access controls for personal and shared data, hashed passwords where password authentication applies, private diagnostic storage, and service monitoring. No system can guarantee absolute security.

9. International Processing

Pair with Me is operated from Canada. Service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Information processed in another country may be subject to that country's laws and lawful access requests.

10. Children's Privacy

Pair with Me is intended for adults age 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor provided personal information should contact us.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy when features, providers, or data practices change. We will post the revised policy here, update the date above, and provide additional notice when appropriate.
